Já estive na aldeia de Oura várias vezes nos últimos anos e cada vez, a igreja Paroquial estava fechada. Felizmente, neste dia, encontrei-a aberta e aproveitei a oportunidade para a visitar, pois adoro as igrejas do nosso belo país!
A Igreja Matriz de Oura, de linhas barrocas, com uma torre sineira galaico-portuguesa de dois sinos (embora só tenha um), tem por orago São Tiago. A Igreja é datada do século XVIII (ano de construção: 1779) e possui lindos vitrais que são da autoria do artista e pintor João Vieira, assim como a capela da Srª da Piedade. Destaca se também as imagens do século XVIII e tecto do altar-mor pintado (1786).
The Mother Church of Oura
I have been to the village of Oura several times in recent years and each time, the Parish Church was closed. Fortunately, on this day I found it open and took the opportunity to visit it, as I love the churches of our beautiful country!
The Mother Church of Oura, with baroque lines, and a Galician-Portuguese bell tower with a Galician-Portuguese bell tower with two bells (although it has only one), has St. James as its patron saint. The church dates from the 18th century (year of construction: 1779) and has beautiful stained glass windows by the artist and painter João Vieira, as well as the chapel of Srª da Piedade. Also noteworthy are the 18th century images and the painted ceiling of the main altar (1786).
